TEDxCMU is a conference at Carnegie Mellon University that brings together some of the world’s most bold and innovative thinkers to give the talk of their lives. We want to spread great ideas to the Carnegie Mellon and Pittsburgh community and that starts with you attending this event!

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxCMU, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxCMU event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

What is TED?

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a conference in California 26 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with many initiatives.
